Sean Eldridge, 26-year investor who is also the "husband" of one of the founders of Facebook, Chris Hughes, filed papers to run as a member of Congress from New York in 2014. The move comes just days after Hughes, a former presidential campaign staff of President Barack Obama in the 2008 election, was officially re-launched the magazine New Republic, which he bought last year.

Eldridge, major donors Democratic candidates and party committees, to fight for the seat currently held by Chris Gibson in District 19-New York. His decision confirmed the rumors that the pair beradar far-Hughes Eldridge ambition gain seats in Congress.
In an interview with New York magazine in December, Hughes dismissed the news that her partner will advance to gain seats in Congress. "No, no, no. He's still 26 years old. He will do everything in politics, but I do not think a rush (to get into Congress)," he said.
Eldridge has not officially commented on his nomination. He refused to comment when reporters asked him.

His attempt to sit in Congress could be an uphill battle. District where he ran considered one of the "difficult". In the 2012 presidential elections, support for Obama in this district fell from 52 percent to 46 percent.
