Global TV launched on October 5, 2002 in Jakarta and is owned by Media Nusantara Citra, the media company that also has a RCTI, MNCTV, and SINDOtv. This station was originally established to relay events MTV Asia, which previously relayed through antv, but also broadcast on the development of non-events division of MTV with Global TV for 8 hours, 8 hours to 8 hours of MTV and Nickelodeon who also had aired on Lativi (now AFP).
